Predictions are based on 5-year NTA & JoSAA historical data (2020–2025) using polynomial regression and statistical interpolation. All cutoff data sourced from official JoSAA seat allocation records.
The NTA Percentile Score is NOT the same as percentage. A percentile of 99 means you scored higher than 99% of students who appeared in your session. A raw score of 200/300 could give ~97-98 percentile depending on the difficulty of your session and performance of other students.
NTA calculates subject-wise percentile for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics separately. In case of a tie in the final combined NTA score, subject-wise percentiles are used as tiebreakers — in the order: Mathematics > Physics > Chemistry. This is why scoring well in Maths is especially important.
If you appear in multiple sessions, NTA picks the BEST NTA score (percentile) from any one session for the final merit list. This is not the average — it's the maximum. This encourages students to attempt both sessions.

NTA percentile depends on the performance of ALL students in YOUR specific session. If you score 200 in a session where most students scored 220+, your percentile will be lower than if you scored 200 in a session where most scored 170. This is the normalization mechanism — it adjusts for paper difficulty.
NTA uses your BEST percentile across sessions. Your merit rank cannot decrease by appearing in Session 2. You can only improve your rank, not worsen it. Always appear in all sessions for maximum opportunity.
